Who is PiciordePlay?
PiciordePlay is an online platform that makes Romanian theatre accessible to a wide audience, including people in remote rural areas and individuals with disabilities. By removing geographical and physical barriers, it helps democratize access to cultural experiences that would otherwise remain out of reach. At the start of the Marc Impact Programme, PiciordePlay and the Digital Theatre Association were in an early growth stage, with a validated concept and over 13,000 beneficiaries reached. They faced key challenges in building a sustainable revenue model, securing consistent funding, and developing internal capacity. A major strategic gap was the need to articulate their story more clearly and reach impact investors to validate interest and unlock growth capital.
PiciordePlay meets Marc
During the Marc Impact Programme, PiciordePlay accessed targeted support that helped strengthen both their strategic positioning and operational planning. They used the Theory of Change framework to redefine how they present the project’s purpose, impact, and long-term vision. They also significantly improved their pitch to better resonate with investors and partners. Additionally, they began preparing a valuation for the organization to support future conversations with potential impact investors.
PiciordePlay’s enterprise experienced measurable progress in strategy, financial sustainability, and investor readiness. Using the Theory of Change helped clarify their strategic narrative and align their activities with long-term impact goals. Improved pitching and valuation preparation positioned them more credibly for future funding. These developments were driven by tailored mentorship, peer feedback, and a structured process that pushed them to refine both their impact model and business fundamentals.
Key Results
As a result of the program, PiciordePlay developed a clearer and more compelling project narrative, which they now use in funding proposals and stakeholder communication. Notably, they received a pre-approval for a social impact loan from BCR Social Finance, their first step toward blended finance. Internally, they gained clarity on their scaling strategy and formalized key processes to support long-term growth.
